It’s Friday 3rd of October and the sun is beating down on yet another day in New York City. Once again I choose to wear a long coat. Someone please stop me from repeating this sartorial mistake tomorrow. I have a funny feeling the expected autumnal weather will not be making an appearance while I’m here.
The morning is met with a cold brew at Welcome Home (again) and the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had, outside of France. This is officially our regular spot for the next 4 days. I try the cold brew with a swirl of sugar syrup and a splash of milk today. It’s good but nothing beats the iced black coffee in its original $5 form.
Chocolate hidden between layers of pastry melts onto the paper bag each time I set it back down. We chat for an hour or so in sunned red chairs until we feel our daily moment here is done. We find the G train nearby and head to the Upper East Side.
